Job Description

Job Summary:

The Web Designer (UX/UI) will lead the design and development of user experience and interface elements for a Drupal 11 platform. This role focuses on UX research, information architecture, visual and responsive design, backend interface design, and ensuring accessibility compliance with WCAG 2.2 AA standards while aligning with New York State branding guidelines.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct UX audits, develop user personas, and perform usability analysis.
• Design information architecture, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and sub-theme designs.
• Create responsive designs optimized for mobile devices, tablets, and multiple browsers.
• Design backend user interfaces to enhance editor experience.
• Validate usability and accessibility to ensure compliance with WCAG 2.2 AA standards.
• Support training for editors on design implementation and usage.
• Deliver UX research reports, design systems, style guides, and related documentation.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Minimum 2+ years of experience designing websites.
• Proven expertise in UX research, information architecture, wireframing, responsive design, and accessibility standards.
• Experience with Drupal platform design and backend interface development.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC).
• Nielsen Norman Group UX Certification.
• Proficiency with design tools such as Figma and Adobe XD.

Special Considerations:
