IBM AIX Systems Administrator – Data Center Migration & Enterprise Support📅 Job Type: [Full-time / Contract]💼 Experience Level: Senior / SME Position Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled IBM AIX Systems Administrator to support daily operations, infrastructure upgrades, and enterprise data center migration projects. This role requires extensive experience with AIX 6.1 and 7.1, Power systems, virtualization, HA environments, and storage infrastructure.Daily Responsibilities:Install, configure, upgrade, and administer IBM AIX 6.1 & 7.1 on Power6, Power7, and Power8 serversDesign and configure PowerVM virtualization services including:Shared Ethernet Adapter (SEA), VLAN/VLAN tagging, IVE, NPIVCPU PoolingLive Partition Mobility (LPM)Virtual SCSI services for multiple VIO clientsInstall, configure, and manage High Availability (HA) environments using PowerHAAdminister NFS shares and GPFS clustered file systemsManage and administer the IBM Hardware Management Console (HMC), including:Partition and Application MobilityCPU PoolingActive Memory Expansion (AME) and Active Memory Sharing (AMS)Install, configure, and support:Axway Secure File Transport ServerAxway File Transfer DirectEncryption tools, SSH, and key creation/exchangeConfigure NFS and CIFS with multi-protocol support, NAS integration, and NIS (Master/Slave)Support Disaster Recovery solutions using:Sysback, NIM, CommVault (including Bare Metal Restore)EMC Avamar and other enterprise backup solutionsUtilize system monitoring tools:IBM Tivoli, Splunk, Ganglia, Big BrotherCreate, modify, and maintain KORN shell scriptsAdminister SAN infrastructure, including:Installation and configuration of EMC VMAX and VNXStorage virtualization using VPLEXSupport for SAN-attached AIX serversRequired Skills & Qualifications:7+ years experience with IBM AIX system administration in enterprise environmentsHands-on experience with AIX virtualization, PowerHA, NIM, and SysbackDeep knowledge of IBM Power systems (Power6/7/8)Strong background in HA architecture, SAN management, and backup technologiesExperience with enterprise-grade monitoring and performance tuning toolsProficiency in KORN shell scripting and automationSolid understanding of file transfer, encryption protocols, and secure communication standardsNice to Have:Experience with data center migrations and cloud-integrated infrastructureFamiliarity with newer AIX versions and Power9/Power10 systemsExposure to hybrid storage environments or software-defined storageHow to Apply:📤 Submit your resume and any relevant certifications via Jobxoom or emai
