At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in Lawndale, CA ! About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Lawndale, CA

Details:

• In-Person Tutoring in Lawndale, CA
• Schedule: 10 hours per month; 2 sessions a week for 1.25 hours
• Rate is between $25 and $35 per hour

Ideal Candidate:

• Active teaching credential required
• Experience working with high school students with Autism Spectrum Disorder
• Strong background in reading intervention, reading fluency, and comprehension instruction
• Familiarity with visual-based and structured learning approaches, including curriculum supports similar to N2Y
• Skilled in adapting instruction across multiple academic subjects and learning levels
• Patient, engaging, and flexible in meeting individual learning needs
• Experience teaching foundational math concepts at the elementary level
• Able to support comprehension across content areas using visuals, repetition, and guided instruction
• Strong communication and rapport-building skills to help increase confidence and independence
• Comfortable following parent- and school-provided curriculum and instructional materials

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized academic instruction with a primary focus on reading fluency and reading comprehension
• Support literacy development using structured, visual-based strategies aligned with the student’s current curriculum
• Reinforce comprehension across multiple content areas through guided reading, discussion, and comprehension checks
• Teach foundational math concepts at approximately a 2nd–3rd grade level using step-by-step instruction and visual supports
• Adapt lessons to support the student’s transition into high school and increase academic independence
• Use repetition, scaffolding, and multisensory techniques to strengthen retention and understanding
• Create a calm, supportive, and engaging learning environment that promotes confidence and participation
• Collaborate with parents and follow provided curriculum materials to ensure consistency across instruction
• Monitor progress and adjust instructional strategies based on the student’s evolving needs
• Alternate between tutoring locations in Lawndale as scheduled by the family
