In this role you will work remotely from a home office

We are seeking an intern to join our Automation Runtime Systems Research Group in Princeton, NJ. The right person will have a mix of research experience in software engineering and knowledge of industrial automation systems to participate research projects in Siemens!


The Challenge

During this internship, the person will experience the excitement and challenges of industrial research and be part of a world class team. This person will:

  • Conduct research topics on the industrial data and control infrastructure for the automation systems of the future
  • Work with Researchers and Software Engineers to build concepts and develop working prototypes
  • Produce fast prototyping, feasibility studies, specification, and implementation of product components
  • Create technical reports

The Candidate

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Masters or PhD students in Operations Research, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other from an accredited university
  • Demonstrated ability working with python or another programming language
  • Experience with industrial protocols such as OPC UA. 
  • Experience with information and data modeling.
  • Proficient in English both written and verbal
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States of America and hold a valid work permit for the US for the duration of the internship?

Preferred Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude
  • Capability for quick prototyping
